Congratulations to Mark and Chuck on Concours Awards

Congratulations to Mark Taylor and Chuck Storry on their Concours awards as part of the 2022 FCA Annual Experience Concours event held recently at Mont Tremblant.

Mark achieved both the Coppa di Platino Award and Coppa Bella Macchina Award for his 2012 Ferrari FF.

Chuck achieved the Coppa di Argento Award for his 1985 308 GTS QV.

A brief outline on FCA Concours d’Elegance judging;

Ferraris are arranged in classes by age and type with recognition awarded on the basis of originality, authenticity and condition of the vehicle. All judging is conducted in accordance with the International Advisory Council for the Preservation of the Ferrari Automobile IAC/PFA standards. Any Ferrari that is more than 5 years old at the time of judging is eligible to enter for class awards. Newer cars can enter in the Futuro Classico. (more details can be found on the FCA website and IAC/PFA website.)

Three person judging teams will examine the inside, outside, and engine compartment of your car and make deductions if they see inauthentic items that do not approximate the way the car was originally delivered. Cars are assumed to be 100 point perfect at the start and deductions taken from there.

Cars are evaluated against standards (not against others in the class) and those that achieve 97 or more points are awarded Coppa di Platino. The next 2 cars that achieve the highest points may be awarded Coppa d’Oro (must be > 92 points) and Coppa di Argento (must be > 87 points).

All cars that achieve “Platino” may be considered for further awards including Coppa Bella Macchina. To achieve a Coppa Bella Macchina award the “Platino” car must demonstrate 100% functionality of every component and accessory of the car both statically and on a short road test. Any failure excludes the CBM award - this is a very high standard and requires a high level of preparation as well as proficiency in operating all functions of the car.
